Your Guide to a Girls' Weekend in Boston
Let’s go girls!
We have crafted the ultimate guide to a girls’ weekend in the city for when you stay at Boston Yacht Haven. Grab your besties and pack your bags, this Galentine’s Day is going to be spectacular.
Step one is brunch, obviously. In Back Bay you will find Citrus and Salt, a coastal Mexican restaurant with delicious (and not to mention instagrammable) food and drinks. Fried chicken and waffle tacos? Yes, please. On Newbury Street, dine at Eva, a bright and welcoming spot with plenty of sweet and savory options (Attention Swifties, you're going to want to try the "Cruel summer" cocktail). If you're in more of a pinch, Tatte (pronounced like "latte") has locations throughout the city and has more of a cafe feel rather than a sit-down restaurant. Want to sleep in and stay in your pajamas all morning? We like your style. Enjoy Chef Rene's breakfast at Boston Yacht Haven - complimentary when you stay with us and delivered right to your room!
You deserve to pamper yourself with a spa treatment. Visit Exhale, located on Battery Wharf, and relax with one of their signature massages or move your body during one of their barre or cardio classes. This winter, you will also find a unique, pop-up experience on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. The Winter Sauna Village is complete with saunas, cold plunges, and a relaxation hut.
Once you feel refreshed, it will be time to venture to Newbury Street to shop ‘til you drop. This area is known for some of the best shopping in Boston, from world-famous designer stores to local boutiques, you are sure to find something that speaks to you. The Prudential Center is also a great place to shop while you are in Boston. Head to the top floors to experience View Boston and take in the 360-degree view of the skyline while sipping on a refreshing drink.
Boston is a beautiful and picturesque city. While you're here, snap some photos for your own memories (and the 'gram, of course). You can start right at Boston Yacht Haven by stepping out onto your guestroom balcony and soaking in the harbor and skyline views. While it is a stunning scene any time of day, we do think it is particularly beautiful around sunrise and sunset. Other places we love snapping photos of include the Public Garden, Beacon Hill, The Christopher Columbus Park Trellis, The Public Library, and along the Esplanade.
You and your friends will love visiting the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum. Full of beautiful art, luscious gardens, and the story of history's largest art heist that remains unsolved to this day, it is the perfect addition to your girls' weekend itinerary.
Try new things with your girlfriends this year. Sign up for a candle making class at Boston Candle Lux on Boylston Street, or create your own perfume at Olfactory, located in the Seaport District. Maybe you’ve always wanted to get into Mixology, or perhaps learn to make delicious dumplings on your own. And while Boston may be a big city, there are still ways to get outside and play like a little kid. Check out the snow tubing at Harpoon Brewery in Seaport, your inner child will love it!
After a day full of adventuring throughout the city, you are sure to work up quite the appetite for dinner – and Boston has no shortage of incredible restaurants. Enjoy a meal at Antico Forno (Ocean Access Platinum and Diamond customers receive a complimentary dessert for the table and the tiramisu is delish!). Turning this into a long weekend end dining during the week? Ciao Roma is offering a special every Monday during the winter - enjoy a three-course dinner for two for just $59 total.
If you prefer Mexican for dinner, Lolita has locations in Back Bay and in Seaport and will satisfy your cravings for a great meal and an aesthetic foodie photo. Enjoy dinner, drinks, and a sweet treat for dessert! You’re going to feel like a little kid again snacking on their famous cotton candy after dinner. Searching for something else to satisfy your cravings? Our front desk staff are well-versed in the local foodie fare, and are here to make specific suggestions based on what you’re looking for.
After-dinner drinks will not be hard to come by with plenty of bars throughout the city. If you are looking to break out your cowgirl boots, make your way to Loretta’s Last Call on Lansdowne Street for live music and line dancing. If you prefer something with a more luxurious feel, Mariel downtown may be the spot for you. Dying to sing your heart out with all your girls? Head to Wild Rover or Hong Kong, both in Faneuil Hall, for some karaoke. Or if you want just an all-around fun time, try The Flamingo – you may just walk out with a new flamingo floatie.
