Holiday Performances
Feel the holiday spirit through music, dance, and theater by seeing one of Boston's many performances this season. The Holiday Pops are always a favorite, as well as Boston Ballet's The Nutcracker and the Urban Nutcracker. How the Grinch Stole Christmas is coming to Boston this year, as well as some touring Broadway shows including & Juliet and Six. Blue Man Group is always a fun show for the entire family, as well as Disney on Ice, both of which will be here this winter.
Boston's concert lineup this season is jam-packed. Headliners include Mariah Carey, Andrea Bocelli, Modest Mouse, Sixpence None The Richer, and more. And if you like to have a laugh, there are a number of comics coming to town, including Kevin Hart and Bill Burr.
Shopping and Winter Markets
The bustling Seaport district in Boston will soon transform into a winter wonderland known as "Snowport" with local shopping, dining, and entertainment. The SoWa Winter Festival is another favorite market this time of year, bringing over 100 small businesses to the SoWa Power Station with clothing, crafts, food, and more. Newbury Street is a fantastic shopping hub any time of year, but the brownstone buildings are especially stunning during the holiday season. Faneuil Hall is another popular shopping destination, look forward to seeing the holiday tree in front of Quincy Market become illuminated while you stroll the cobblestone streets.
Ice Skating
Zip up your jacket and lace up your skates for this classic wintertime activity. The Frog Pond is right in the middle of Boston Common, so you can gaze at the snow-covered trees and go for a stroll after you skate. The Rink at 401 Park is another fun spot to skate in the wintertime, with theme nights, music, food, and more.
Holiday Lights
See the city become illuminated in colorful, twinkling lights. Just steps from Boston Yacht Haven is Christopher Columbus Park, whose trellis will be decorated with a beautiful light display. Go for a stroll at night for waterfront views of the lights reflecting on the water. Downtown Crossing and the Boston Common are lit up every year, each with beautiful trees. In the Seaport, the Ship at Martin's Park will don a holiday glow with its own lights display. Also in the Seaport is the 9' tall Menorah that is lit every year by Chabad of Downtown Boston.
Sporting Events
Boston is still feeling the excitement of the Celtics' recent NBA Championship Win and are looking forward to securing another title this year. Both the Celtics and the Bruins will play at TD Garden this winter, show your Boston pride and cheer them on. In the mood for something sillier? See the Harlem Globetrotters when they make an appearance on December 26th. And while baseball season will have drawn to a close, you will still have the opportunity to see a game at Fenway Park during the Wasabi Fenway Bowl - a college football game taking place on December 28th.
Dining
Boston Yacht Haven is right next to the historic North End, or "Little Italy." Cozy up this winter with a glass of Italian wine at one of the many incredible restaurants in the area. You can also look forward to enjoying fresh biscotti and a warm cup of cocoa in the Captain's Lounge here at Boston Yacht Haven, get comfortable with a blanket or book as you gaze over the placid harbor through our floor-to-ceiling windows.
