Throw tea into the harbor at the Boston Tea Party Museum
Boston Tea Party Museum

Even though school may not be in session, there is always so much to learn in Boston! The USS Constitution is located in the Charlestown Navy Yard and is the oldest warship still afloat in the United States. Climb on board and explore and visit the museum to learn more about the fascinating history of “Old Ironsides.”

The Boston Tea Party Museum is one of Boston’s most famous attractions and recalls the story of the famous December night that led to the American Revolution. You will be led by costumed guides and board an 18th century replica vessel. And no visit would be complete without dumping tea into the harbor!

Steps away from Boston Yacht Haven is the New England Aquarium, home to thousands of animals from penguins, to rays, to turtles, and more. Check out exciting exhibits like Sea Jellies and Amazon Rainforest, and come close to creatures in the shark and ray touch tank. You can even catch a 3-D film at the Simons Theater.

Visit the Museum of Science for thrilling exhibits that will interest all ages. This winter, see the seasonal exhibit, “All Aboard! Trains at Science Park,” complete with model trains, activities, and surprises. Also be sure to see a lightning show at the museum, powered by the world’s largest air-insulated Van de Graaff generator.

For a more unconventional museum experience, head to the Museum of Illusions or the WNDR Museum. Both are sure to amaze, perplex, and create lasting memories for the whole family. And for the most delicious museum experience of them all, visit the newly-opened Museum of Ice Cream in the Seaport! Explore the interactive installations and eat as much ice cream as you wish!

Lace up your skates at the Frog Pond! This outdoor rink is a beloved Boston spot, conveniently located within Boston Common. Take a stroll after skating your heart out, and be sure to see The Embrace statue.

Prefer indoor activities? Stay warm and have some fun at Puttshack in the Seaport. It’s mini golf like you have never seen before. Or channel your need for speed at the F1 Arcade, also located in the Seaport. All ages are welcome during the day, but only children over the age of seven may use the racing simulators.

Take a short train or car ride to the Lego Discovery Center at Assembly Row - complete with rides, 4-D movies, and more. And for the Potterheads, Harry Potter the Exhibition is a must-do, located at Cambridgeside.
